Beyond my artistic pursuits, I am dedicated to being your trusted companion throughout your wedding or elopement journey.
Xander and Daria’s Yosemite National Park elopement was truly a day worth waiting for. As a Yosemite elopement photographer, I was so excited when this couple initially booked me two years ago. Daria and Xander live in Scotland and first fell in love with Yosemite when they visited four years ago, pre-pandemic. Immediately, they knew this was the place they had to get married!
However, COVID travel restrictions lasted longer than we all expected, which forced us to push the elopement out until 2023. After much planning and expectation, I finally got to go on this fantastic adventure with Xander and Daria. Theirs was an incredible, intimate day to remember. And it was all authentically tailored to their love story.
We started the morning early, getting ready at the couple’s Airbnb in Oakhurst. I helped Daria with her hair. That’s just one example of how I really will do everything I can to make my clients’ dream elopements a reality! Then, Daria and I drove separately from Xander to their first-look location, Glacier Point.
At Glacier Point, a stunning Yosemite overlook, I set the bride and groom up for their first look just as the sun began to rise. The views of Half Dome in the background were incredible. And after the first look, we took some more sunrise bridal portraits in the warm, golden, glowy light. We were also thankful for the beautiful florals that popped against the Yosemite greenery from Strelitzia Flower Company.
From there, Daria, Xander, and I hiked to Taft Point with their officiant, Laura Jackson, for the ceremony. Laura lives and works in Yosemite as an interpretive naturalist and tour guide. She is such an extraordinary lady.
After a short hike, we reached the Taft Point viewpoint. There, Xander and Daria exchanged vows and rings and officially said, “I do!” Then, we ran around capturing a ton of romantic, adventurous, fun photos before it was time for a picnic brunch. As a Yosemite elopement photographer, I may be biased, but I think the views at Taft Point are some of the best in the world. I could spend all day there just taking in the beauty.
Finally, we hiked out of Taft Point, making our way to Tunnel View for the famous view. And then, we stopped at the historic Yosemite Chapel for more pictures and to enjoy the valley views, trees, and tall grass. All in all, it was Xander and Daria’s perfect elopement day. I’m so happy I got to be a part of it!
Yosemite National Park is one of the places I know best, and I love shooting there. So, I offer Yosemite Park elopement photography packages for adventurous couples looking to get married in it’s majesty! If this gallery sparks your wanderlust, please inquire here about your Yosemite elopement!
