Lake Como Italy Engagement Photos: An Italian Destination Photography Session

Allison and James’s Lake Como Italy engagement session was a dream! Italy is easily one of my favorite places on earth and has become one of my most traveled photography destinations. I especially love the area surrounding Lake Como!

I’ve found Lake Como, a lakeside resort community in Northern Italy, to be an ideal setting for engagement shoots. It’s also a fantastic location for couples’ photography sessions, destination elopements and weddings. Everything about the historic streets and dramatic scenery is so romantic. So, it’s not surprising this couple’s final gallery is overflowing with romance, joy, and love!

A Romantic Lake Como Italy Engagement Session

We began James and Allison’s session by walking around the streets of Varenna, Lake Como, Italy. Varenna is one of the most beautiful and romantic towns on Lake Como. So, I captured some photos of the couple as they wandered along the cobblestone streets.

Then, we made our way to Villa Monastero. This historic Italian villa surrounded by stunning gardens was a dream to shoot at. I honestly believe it is one of the most beautiful places in the world. With its gorgeous design details, romantic gardens, and views of Lake Como, Villa Monastero is everything I love about being an Italy destination photographer.

Allison and James were so much fun to work with! Overall, they made it easy to capture just how in love they are. I caught moments of silliness, intimacy, excitement, and simple, honest connection. Finally, James and Allison ended their Lake Como Italy engagement shoot by enjoying some gelato by the water.
