Beyond my artistic pursuits, I am dedicated to being your trusted companion throughout your wedding or elopement journey.
This session was absolutely magical. Everything about Meghan and Frank’s Florence destination engagement photography session was an adventure to remember. From running around in the rain to capturing a double rainbow over the Ponte Vecchio, I loved every single moment.
We started this Italian engagement session at Meghan and Franks’s accommodation. They stayed at the enchanting Villa La Massa, a thirteenth-century country house turned luxury hotel just outside Florence. The building is a gorgeous example of Renaissance architecture. Plus, acres and acres of gardens and Tuscan countryside surround the hotel on all sides.
We had to fight the weather a bit for this session. It was pouring rain when we started shooting, so we had to get creative with some of our shots. Meghan and Frank were up for the adventure as we explored the grounds in a new way. Using the arched alcoves and doorways to avoid the rain, we still captured some of the villa’s stunning architecture.
These green umbrellas truly became our best friends throughout this Florence destination engagement photography session. I also had fun with the different lighting inside and outside. Plus, I took some through-the-window and reflection shots that turned out beautifully.
Finally, we wrapped up Meghan and Frank’s photoshoot by heading into the city of Florence. We walked along the Ponte Vecchio and the Arno River. Then, as we came to the Ponte Santa Trinita, the rain suddenly stopped, and a double rainbow formed over the Ponte Vecchio in the background.
Those were, by far, my favorite shots of the day, but the sky didn’t stop showing off for us there. The blue sky finally peaked through pink-tinted clouds as the sun set over the river. I snapped a few last shots just as the streetlamps came on, casting a golden glow over the still-wet road.
This is one of my favorite spots in one of my favorite cities. And, during this adventure of a shoot, Meghan and Frank became one of my favorite couples. So, I can honestly say this shoot was one of the highlights of both my career and my life. I know I will never forget these moments! Even though we ended the session soaking wet, the magic of capturing these timeless memories warmed all our hearts.
