Sacramento Rooftop Proposal

Justin and Alex are long time clients of mine! They have done a few couples sessions with me and Alex has done some fashion modeling for me! Both absolutely incredible people! Every time we were together we all would joke that when Justin was ready to propose he better call me and I would help him with it all to make sure Alex’s dreams came true! And thankfully he did! I literally jumped up and down when I got his call!

I knew Alex’s dream was a rooftop in Sacramento. She loves the skyline and the urban feel. We had done a fashion shoot at this parking garage before and she completely fell in love. So when Justin asked for suggestions of locations, of course I suggested this PERFECT rooftop parking garage in Downtown Sacramento!

With the help of some amazing decor, a beautiful sign, a yummy (and gluten-free) charcuterie board, and lots of flowers, I was able to create the perfect romantic rooftop to surprise Alex when her and Justin came up from the elevator. It was the perfect spot for him to pop the question!

The proposal part of the day went perfectly! As soon as Alex stepped off the elevator and saw the setup her whole face lit up. I immediately hit play on my speaker and the song that Justin has requested to play filled the air. They walked over and took in the whole scene! Alex spotted me and joyfully screamed, “You got Katelyn”. That officially made my day!

Justin got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Of course, without hesitation, she said yes! So much love and excitement filled the air. My camera kept firing as they embraced and laughed and kissed and were giddy with excitement!

After giving them time to take it all in and enjoy the moment, I walked over and wished them congratulations and got to celebrate with them in their first few moments as an engagement couple! Then we began the fun! I always include a mini photoshoot with proposal packages after the actual proposal to capture all the joy, the ring and the love! We did just that! I had them dance and laugh and be in their love bubble on the rooftop above the clouds above the beautiful city of Sacramento! There is nothing better than being a proposal photographer! You leave each day believing in the power and beauty of love more than ever before! Alex and Justin were one of the best!
