Beyond my artistic pursuits, I am dedicated to being your trusted companion throughout your wedding or elopement journey.
This past weekend I had the great pleasure of visiting the Oregon Coastline! Chris and I departed Friday morning after his birthday breakfast in bed (Bradley family tradition). I had planned on throwing Chris a big surprise party for his 30th birthday but Covid had other plans. So we decided to head north to visit his Mom and Grandparents. I hadn’t met his Grandparents on that side yet and we hadn’t seen his Mom in a long time. Perfect excuse for a getaway!
His Mom and Grandparents live in Brookings, OR. I have spent a lot of time driving straight through the state of Oregon when Chris lived in Portland but I have never been to the coast. And WOW! Now I know why everyone is obsessed with the PNW Coastline! It was stunning! Huge redwood trees on your right side and the beautiful ocean on your left! I was in awe as we drove! We spent the rest of Chris’ birthday at their house enjoying BBQ and wonderful company!
Early the next morning, his Grandpa and Mom showed off their fishing skills as we braved the ocean waves on their fishing boat! My camera was good and ready until about 15 minutes into the trip when I was throwing up my breakfast over the side of the boat. Not my finest moment to try to impress my soon-to-be Grandparents and Mother-in-law, but they were great and it was definitely worth it to get out on the water! I love the ocean so much and this was my first time on a boat in the ocean!
Once we docked and my land-loving stomach settled down, we headed up the coast to Natural Bridges Viewpoint! I was stunned! The view deck overlooks the ocean and this little cove filled with perfectly teal water and stunning natural bridges in the rock formations of the cliffs. We hiked a little way down but didn’t spend too much time there. I am already planning on heading back and scheduling a session for an adventure couple there! This natural wonder may be one of my new favorite places!
We spent the rest of the weekend celebrating Chris’ and his Mom’s birthdays (hers was on Sunday). We got to explore the adorable town of Brookings and eat some wonderful food (some even grown in his Grandparent’s backyard). We took their dogs on a walk down by the beach and had perfect beach weather!
We were sad to pack up and leave Sunday afternoon. I really enjoyed getting to know his Grandparents, spending time with his Mom and hearing all the adorable stories of Chris as a kid! On our drive back we decided to take the scenic route! We drove the 101 along the coast as far as Eureka and the drive had me drooling! The gorgeous redwoods, the NorCal coast and the reggae blasting on the stereo! We even got to stop at the Drive-Thru Tree Park and drive our car through a massive redwood tree! Ahhh so fun! I can’t wait to go back! If you are dreaming of the Oregon coastline as much as I am, send me a message and we’ll schedule a shoot! I officially obsessed!
