Monterey Bay Lover’s Point Proposal

Bryce and Everett have been my clients since I went full time with photography! They started with me back when I was advertising on Craigslist! Can you believe it?! I have watched their relationship grow and they have stuck with me as I have grown as a photographer. So when Everett called me and said he had a ring burning a hole in his pocket, of course I said yes!!

Monterey is a special place for Bryce and Everett. They have spent many weekends exploring the cute beach town eating at delicious local restaurants, walking along the beach, checking out the cliff side views and of course laughing and admiring the adorable seals that live amongst Monterey’s shores. Our original plan was for a spot along the 17 Mile Drive that was one of their favorite spots but unfortunately the weekend we decided on was also the weekend of Monterey’s classic car show and the 17 Mile Drive road was closed. So we decided on another location they love which is Lover’s Point, I mean how fitting!

Everett and I had multiple phone calls to discuss the details of the proposal. We talked about what we wanted, the location, the timeline, and of course how to make it so she doesn’t see me and we can make it a surprise. We did little things like share our locations with each other, mark the exact location on Google Earth as to where he wanted to propose (relatively), which direction they were going to walk, how he was going to have her turn around to “take a picture” and he would get down on one knee, and the timing they were going to be at the location. All things to make sure I was ready and prepared to be camera ready for the big moment!

Once Everett got Bryce to the perfect spot at Lover’s Point and got down on one knee and she excitedly said yes, I let them have a few moments to themselves and then joined them in celebrating the fact that they were ENGAGED! Bryce was so excited to see me there and I think it helped make the day feel even more perfect! We exchanged hugs and exuberances! And of course I couldn’t wait to see the ring! It is absolutely stunning!

After the proposal, I include a mini session in all of my Proposal Packages. For Bryce and Everett, we got to explore Lover’s Point and make our way from the cliffs down to the beach! We got to enjoy the sand between out toes and while we got wet from the waves, it ended up being a lot of fun and made for incredible photos! Bryce and Everett could not stop smiling and giggling as they processed being newly engaged! It was so cute! I absolutely loved how the photos turned out!
