Beyond my artistic pursuits, I am dedicated to being your trusted companion throughout your wedding or elopement journey.
After having a cancelation for a Saturday session, I decided to post on my Instagram story that I was giving away a couples session for $100 off. I really just wanted to shoot and it was supposed to be such a nice weekend! I got a response from a long time follower asking to be considered for the session even though it would be just her and a maternity shoot. Of course I said yes! It had been so long since I had done a maternity shoot! So we set up our location and time!
We met at the Dry Creek Community Park in Roseville. This was a spot I had wanted to shoot at for a while and I was so happy to be able to explore it with a new client! Form the moment we started talking, we just clicked! Catalina is such a beautiful human inside and out! As the session went on we realized we had a lot in common and her energy was just so contagious!
We explored the area and got some amazing photos! I had a hard time believing she is only 2 weeks away from her due date, as she just looked so good! She contributes her success through her pregnancy to her continued yoga practice throughout her pregnancy. Definitely badass! We spent the entire session talking and laughing in between each photo! I love sessions like this where I really connect with the client and we just have fun and get to be creative! I think this really comes across in the final images!
As we wrapped up the session, we got talking about her baby’s name. She told me it was going to be a boy and she was going to name him Theodore Bjorn. Bjorn in Scandinavian means Bear. So he will literally be her Teddy Bear! How cute is that?! Of course at the mention of Theodore I got tears in my eyes because that’s my baby’s (puppy) name and he is my everything. If you haven’t noticed from my million posts about him, my Theo is a labradoodle and my seizure alert service dog. He has literally saved my life on multiple occasions and is the reason I was able to leave the house before I got my seizures under control. After telling her this, we were both in tears and we knew we had bonded for life!
At the end of the session, I knew I had so many amazing shots it was going to be a long editing session and I absolutely could not wait! To my surprise, Catalina asked if I would be there at the birth to capture Theo’s first moments in this world. Crying again, I said yes of course! And now I cannot wait! Such an amazing first of many sessions to come with this beautiful woman and her growing Teddy Bear!
