Engagement Photos at Big Basin Redwoods State Park

When Alexis told me that they were interested in doing their engagement photos in the redwoods, my heart got so happy! We had so much fun exploring this gorgeous state park and seeing some incredible redwoods! These two are so cute! They were laughing and giggling the whole time and you can feel the love they share come through in every photo!

This state park is about a 3 hour drive from Sacramento and definitely worth the trip! The winding roads that lead to it are so much fun to drive and are filled with incredible views along the whole way! Once there, we walked the Redwood Loop Trail. It is a 0.6 mile loop with the trailhead right at the parking lot across from the visitor center in the park. They trail was flat and easy to walk! Alexis stayed in her comfy heels for a lot of it! Such a trooper!

We had so many spots to choose from along this loop and it made for a super easy and fun session spot! We started walking around 6:30pm and I definitely would start earlier in the day next time. We lost the light pretty quickly but ended up staying and shooting until about 8:30pm and I just bumped my ISO up! Luckily they are fans of the film/ grainy look! With extreme heat hitting the Sacramento valley, it was nice to cool off a little in the shade of the redwoods! They ended their session with matching Reptar shirts and it was seriously the cutest thing ever!

I cannot wait to go back and explore this gorgeous state park more! I had so much fun with these two goofs and am so in love with how the photos turned out! Now the countdown begins for their wedding in June!
